Bazz then comes to his rescue and Luffy finally retrieves his hat. When Chopper informs him that not only did Bazz successfully steal Luffy’s hat, but that he was on the Straw Hat Pirates’ ship. The film is set between the Thriller Bark Arc and the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, as Brook is shown alongside the other Straw Hat Pirates (making this his first film appearance), and Sengoku and Garp are still in their positions in the Marines. The film is shown to be a dream by Chopper set after the 2-year time skip.
News of the film first appeared during a showing of the Episode of Chopper Plus, during which a teaser for the tenth film was revealed. Chopper noticed that he had been mumbling the name Bazz in his sleep, and asks him who it is.
